Peter Woodcock was a Canadian serial killer who committed his first murder at the age of 17 in 1956. He went on to kill three more people in Toronto over a span of several years. Woodcock's victims were young children, and he was known for his cold and calculating demeanor.
Woodcock was diagnosed with schizophrenia and spent much of his adult life in psychiatric institutions. He underwent various treatments, including electroconvulsive therapy and medication, but his mental health issues persisted. In 1984, he was found unfit to stand trial for his crimes due to his mental illness.
Woodcock was eventually found not criminally responsible for the murders he had committed and was institutionalized for the remainder of his life. He died in a hospital in Toronto in 2010 at the age of 71. Woodcock's case remains one of the most infamous in Canadian criminal history.
